Instagram: Seasonal Prizes

Updated: Jan 22

To keep with my bio–politics theme, my Seasonal Prizes will focus on important days in the bioethical/medical community plus the political/international relations community. I found this is better than a blanket Seasonal Prizes page: Because of space and time constraints, I'm often forced to choose between important holidays which isn't fair since all of them are as important. On my Instagram page, found [ here ], I have created a game to help you learn about and understand important medical/bioethical, and political customs and days from a worldwide perspective. Each week will have a different number of important days with the cartoons depicting these important advancements in our worldwide community.

Thank you so much Zygomatic at TonyTool for the use of your platform!  If you want to make your own comic, free of charge (but donations are welcome) from the TonyTool website, please use this [ link ].

Rules for The Seasonal Prize Game:

Each Seasonal Prize post (on Instagram) will be posted on Wednesday, and each holiday for that week will be part of the dialogue in the cartoon.

The Seasonal Prizes characters will each give information about the following:

  1. Who are the important people or organizations for this day?

  2. What is celebrated?

  3. Historically, when was this first observed?

  4. Why is this day important?

  5. Were there any government or municipal policy changes because of this day?

  • This is a game that tests your memory, and when paired with the Caption Find post, it will also test your observation skills!

  • To play the Seasonal Prizes quiz, select the option you think is correct in the Instagram Quiz sticker. You’ll see instantly if your choice was correct; if not, the correct answer will be highlighted.

  • You can answer anytime from Thursday when the quiz is posted until the following Thursday (when the new quiz starts).

  • Each question has multiple options; pick the correct one based on that week’s Instagram post.

  • I'll give an example for the first one, the correct answers are underlined:

Each answer (1–5) is worth one point each so the total you can get for the Seasonal Prize per week is 5. The winner will be the one who answers all the points correctly and is the first to submit their answers. If not all of the answers are correct but the person had four correct answers, they will be the winner, and so on. In the case of ties (if you choose all the correct answers on the same day as the other person/people), there is a shared victory.

The winner will be announced the following Friday before the next Seasonal Prize quiz begins. I will give the winner (or winners) a shoutout in the comments, and as the winner/winners, you could request a specific dish (out of six meals/drinks) for the next addition of the Recipe–Menu.
